Hi Lisa, I agree with your ideas about performance appraisals. The subjective nature of their use is problematic. One supervisor or manager can rate an employee "Excellent", while another supervisor or manager can rate the same employee with the same performance "Meets Standards". This is not a good system. Since an employee's future promotability may be impacted by this subjective process, a more objective evaluation instrument should be explored. A more quantifiable approach should be used if possible.

I stumbled across your blog while I was doing some online research. Really great reading here! I found much of this both entertaining and informative, useful and insightful. Great stuff!
