Before I get into the meat of my post, I want to make sure you check out the "Best of 2005" collection that Rosa put together with all her blogging buddies. Unlike a carnival or just a collection of recent links, this list represents the bests posts of the year. So it is all great stuff. I was happy to contribute, too.
One more thing: As most of you know, we had another Typepad outage that caused the last several posts to be temporarily deleted and several functions did not work. All is back up again. Thanks for your patience. Some of my blogging buddies are jumping ship from Typepad, and I am still not sure of the best reaction. Honestly, I am too busy right now and don't want to be bothered with a move. We'll see.
OK, now on to slumbering results.
Does anything get done between now and New Year's?? I have worked for some very results oriented companies and even they slow down a bunch. Perhaps the manufacturing side of things is different. And retail, of course, is rocking and rolling. I can remember my days at Amazon - insanity during this time.
But for the garden variety company, things slow down.
As a leader, what should you do about this? (Select one and vote in the comments)
- Join in! You work too hard anyway. Encourage reflection and recharge and do the same for yourself.
- Crack the whip - you have numbers to meet!
- Take time to plan and brainstorm with your team.
- Bring Krispy Kremes to work to supercharge your employees' blood chemistry.
- 1 and 2
- 1, 3, and 4
- 3 and 4
- All of the above
- None of the above
What will you do?
