Win a Breakthrough!

As a "Thank You" to my Management Craft readers and to help you all get 2006 started with a bang, I am going to give away two full scholarships ($325 value each) to my 2 Weeks to a Breakthrough program beginning in January. You can get more information about the course here.

Here is what I am going to do. If you are interested in attending, send me ONE PARAGRAPH of no more than 225 words that describes a goal about which you are excited and passionate. What one goal is most important to you and makes your heart go a flutter when you think about it?

I will offer a scholarship to two people who send me the most clear and compelling goals. I don't care whether your goal is huge in the scheme of the world (begin a nonprofit to help low income families prepare their children for college) or something more narrow and personal (I want to put myself in a position to be promoted or offered a job that has eluded me thus far). I will not judge the actual goal. What I am looking for is that you can articulate what you want to have happen and you are obviously engaged and passionate about bringing your goal to fruition. In the paragraph, include what you want to accomplish, why you want to accomplish this and how your life will be richer once this goal is achieved. I will not consider any submissions that involve illegal activities (like, "I want to become the biggest cocaine dealer in Fargo").

Your goal can be something that may take years or just a couple months. Please don't send me a goal that involves a single task. For example, "I want to get my office organized," or "I want to convince my husband to move to New Mexico," don't really lend themselves to the 2 Weeks to a Breakthrough process.

Only two scholarships will be awarded, but every participant will win because this is a great exercise to go through to clarify and reengage in your goals. Before you send your paragraph on to me, I recommend you share it with one or two trusted friends and ask them if it is clear and compelling.

To help others articulate their goals, I may share some of the entries with my blog readers. Your name will not be used and any obvious identifiers (like I am the CEO of Apple) will be removed.
