Creative Juxtaposition

Every now and then, I meet someone who seems creative in a very fresh way. This weekend, we went to the Pike Place Market - a favorite place for us to explore. I love checking out the local artists and crafts people and the tea shops. Bill loves the exotic seafood. We both enjoy the selection of mushrooms when in season.

Yesterday I met an artist I had not seen there before named Jon Strongbow. His pen and ink drawings are so creative, so electric, so original - so cool. Here are two hand colored in prints that I purchased for my office (I think they will stimulate my creativity). They are part of his Secret City Series.

Several of his drawings put people and animals in situations that are uncommon. They place creatures and times and cultures together. Rivers become roads become sky.
