Bring Your Dog to Work Day

OK, take your dog to work day is not until June 23rd, but I had to share this article from Management Issues called, Dog-friendly offices = happy and loyal employees.

"Allowing staff to bring their dogs to work can be a huge competitive advantage for employers, so much so that most dog owners would work longer or even take a pay cut if they could share the office with their pets."

Hmmm...There is the issue of what to do about pee and poop, let's be honest. And with four dogs, I know all about that. I can visualize 200 dogs a day peeing on the lone poplar tree on the corner of 4th and Pike in Seattle. Poor tree.

It is a shame that dog poop can't be easily converted into biodiesel - I would never pay for fuel again (except in the form of kibble)!

And there is the issue that your dog is likely to sniff out the bozos and make them feel unwelcome in your office. Oh, wait, that's not a problem...

The pros are numerous!

• Your dog will make you take breaks and walks - lowering your stress.
• Your dog will remind you when it is time to go home.
• Your dog will listen to you practice your presentation.
• Your dog will offer a way to vent your feelings without making a fool out of yourself.

And so on...

I wish I worked at a place where I was able to bring my dog along with me. The worst thing about taking care of a dog is having to leave her everyday. She always looks so sad.

I had my newly adopted Female Siberian Husky pup with me on my day off, June 30. I ran into my office with her for 10-15 minutes to get directons for the weekend I left on my desk. It was a 90+ degree day, there was no way I'd leave her in the car. I was given a written warning and then fired. I was told I created an intimidating environment. Can you assist me in my plight to get either my job back or at the very least some severance for my 23 years of service to Chase Bank?? I feel this was my managers way of getting back at me for reporting his abusive behavior to HR back in November. He was not even in that Friday before 4th of July w/e! Suggestions? Comments??

Awwww! Adorable dogs. I love them so much. But there is no such thing as Bring your pet dog day here in the country I live in. I wonder how it would look like if it does happen??? I would love it. Thanks for sharing by the way! :)
