Update: Thanks everyone for your comments and emails. My mother died a couple hours ago. I'd like to share this thought about her.
She had so much going on and was optimistic. She swore by her juice - acai and pom. She was 9/10 done with her book about the changing lives of women through how they set their table - Place Settings in Time. Her table was always classy and inviting. She had 2 inch long white shag carpet - it's all the rage again, don't you know? Looked like a blanket of snow.

I will not be posting for a while. I am heading to Florida tomorrow. My mother has had a serious stroke and the news is not good. I will write when my head is ready to think about business again.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your mom and family...

A rose once grew where all could see,
sheltered beside a garden wall.
And, as the days passed swiftly by,
it spread its branches, straight and tall.
One day, a beam of light shone through
a crevice that had opened wide.
The rose bent gently toward its warmth
then passed beyond to the other side.
Now, you who deeply feel its loss,
be comforted, the rose blooms there.
Its beauty even greater now,
nurtured by God's own loving care.

I'm sorry to hear about your mother, Lisa. With my own mother's passing last October, I can empathize. I'm still struggling with getting my thoughts back to where they were prior to her passing.
My thoughts are with you.
