How much of your workday do you spend playing to your strengths? - Chat with Marcus Buckingham
In this 41 minute podcast, I chat with speaker, author, and best selling author Marcus Buckingham. We discuss the barriers that get in the way of us playing to our strengths at work and strategies that we can use to increase the amount of time we spend on tasks that strengthen us (and reduce the time we spend on tasks that weaken us). This is a lively and helpful podcast and Marcus shares several stories and suggestions that can help everyone enjoy their work more fully while benefiting the organization in a deeper way. This is also a great podcast for managers because we chat about the manager's role in leveraging strengths. Join the strengths revolution!
Marcus will be offering presentations in several cities March-May. Click here to see his tour schedule. While this is a tour to share his new book, Go Put Your Strengths to Work and his DVD training series Trombone Player Wanted, he has teamed up with local organizations to offer these talks for a great value. For my fellow Seattlites, Marcus will be presenting on March 19th. The Puget Sound Chapters of ASTD, ODN, and SHRM have teamed up to produce the event. For $35-45 you get the book and tons of extras. And Marcus is very good speaker, so it will be a great event for sure. I will be there, let me know if you plan on going. Also, for those of you in the New York City area, Marcus asked that I pass along that he will on PBS station WLIW for pledge week. You can see Marcus on 2/11/07 from 3:00-4:30pm.
Want to know what Marcus means when he says that ,"on some level we are all deeply mysterious?" Listen to this podcast!

I am just finishing the last few pages of Now, Discover Your Strengths by Marcus Buckingham and Donald O. Clifton. I just zipped over to Amazon and ordered Go Put Your Strengths To Work. I can't wait to get it. I am excited to try using the strengths finder with our staff. I plan to ask my boss to buy each of them a copy. As a 'learning by the seat of my pants' manager I read voraciously and this book seems to have a lot that I can use. I am amazed at how accutately my strengths were rated. Thanks for mentioning the new book.

I found this post very interesting and commented about it over at my blog Seems to me we're actually encouraging our children to teach by testing them on the wrong things. In this age of instantly-available information, tests should be based on understanding and application, not on rote repeating of data. You can cheat facts and figures, but no cheating system can cheat understanding!

love, love, love these clothes, thanks for sharing. Zorba looks great in her outfit, especially love the pants. Her catalog is great, and can't wait to see her spring line.
We have to get our Canton trip planned soon:)
You must have read my mind: where did she get those very cool pants? So now, Miss Enabler, I have made it onto their website and gotten on their catalog list. Thanks.
