I just heard someone say, "I like my job, but I don't love it." And it made me wonder how many people know the type of work that they would love to do. Day after day, week after week. What does "love my job" look like and feel like in the long term?
Two opposing points.
- Beware of "grass is greener" thinking and bailing on a job because you don't feel fulfilled. Maybe the job is fine, but your definition of success is not serving you.
- Beware of settling. If you have a dream, go for it. Do it in a smart way - with planning and preparation and no burned bridges. But do it.
Where are you?
- I love my job.
- I don't love my job - I am the problem.
- I don't love my job - I have a dream not pursued.
